Heavy Duty Maintenance Mechanic
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical & mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting diagnosis, assembly, and installation on fixed and mobile surface mining equipment.
- Experienced in maintaining and supporting Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, and Hitachi surface mining product lines.
- Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on 12–24-volt mobile mining equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance, schedule maintenance, and complete reports and work orders as required.
Skills & Requirements
- 8,000 hours in the maintenance of mobile mining equipment. Up to 6000 hours credited for documented hours spent to complete trade school, military service as a mobile equipment technician, technical school, or apprenticeship training.
- Must have proven and demonstrated skills in diagnosing electrically controlled diesel- powered equipment and hydraulic systems.
- Experience operating, repairing, and troubleshooting stationary generators, heaters, pumps, and light plants.
- High School diploma or GED
Education & Certification
- Must have high safety standards for self and others.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must communicate and coordinate with others and as assigned in groups.
- Must consistently deliver quality, accurate diagnosis, repairs, assembly, and maintenance.
- Must be willing to work shift work or otherwise assigned.
- Must have a full set of mechanics tools per the UCM tool list within 120 days of hire.
- Must meet UCM fitness for duty requirements.
- The successful candidate must pass a post-offer physical and drug test.
